Load the “Enterprise Performance Management System Release 9.3.1 Start Here: Installation Documents and Readmes” DVD, unzip the master file, navigate to the “English” folder, unzip file “hss_93101_install_doc.zip”, and open file “hss_93101_windows_install.pdf”.  The installation instructions are contained in chapter two.

 

 

Installation Process

 

Shared Services installation is straightforward with no prerequisites.

 

Load the “Hyperion Shared Services Release 9.3.1 Microsoft Windows x86 Installer English” DVD.  Unzip the master file, and copy its contents to a temporary installation directory.

 

To start the installation run file “setup.exe”.

 

When the language selection screen appears, select the installation language from the drop down list, and press “OK”:

When the welcome screen appears, press “Next”:

When the locale screen appears, select the country of your choice from the drop down list, and press “Next”:

When the licence screen appears, click on the “I Agree” radio button, and press “Next”:

When the home directory screen appears, browse to select a home directory for the Hyperion installation (the default is “C:\Hyperion”), and press “Next”:

When the shared services directory screen appears, browse to select a home directory for the shared services installation (the default is directory “SharedServices\9.3.1” under the Hyperion home directory), and press “Next”:

When the setup type screen appears, click on the “Typical” radio button, and press “Next”:

When the confirmation screen appears, check the values, and, in the absence of error, press “Next”:

An installation in progress screen will appear.  Installation should take a few minutes on a typical desktop machine:

When the installation successful screen appears, press “Next”:

When the launch configuration utility screen appears, press “Finish” (don’t click on the “Launch Hyperion Configuration Utility” radio button, as some prerequisites are required before configuration):

Now you have installed Shared Services.
