Essbase Spreadsheet Add-in for Excel

As part of the Essbase client installation process, an add-in is installed within Excel. This add-in allows users to access and maintain Essbase Server data.

Open Excel, and click on the “Essbase” menu item to see the options available:

Essbase Add-in Registration

Adding details about the Excel add-in to the Windows registry can improve stability.

Navigate to “Start => All Programs => Hyperion => Essbase Client” and click on the “Register Spreadsheet Add-in” menu item.

Essbase Add-in Toolbar Installation

The Essbase Add-in for Excel has an optional toolbar that contains a subset of the items available on the “Essbase” menu.

To install the toolbar, start Excel and open file:

<Hyperion Home>\AnalyticServices\client\sample\Esstoolb.xls

If a warning pop-up window appears, click on “Enable Macros”, and the toolbar should appear as follows:

Close Excel and exit.
