Load the “Enterprise Performance Management System Release 9.3.1 Start Here: Installation Documents and Readmes” DVD, unzip the master file, navigate to the “English” folder, unzip file “hss_93101_install_doc.zip”, and open file “hss_93101_windows_install.pdf”.  The configuration instructions are contained in chapter four.

 

 

Configuration Process

 

Start the Hyperion configuration utility as follows: “Start => All Programs => Hyperion => Foundation Services => Configuration Utility”.

 

When the language installation screen appears, select the installation language from the drop down list, and press “OK”:

When the welcome screen appears, press “Next”:

When the products screen appears, click on the key to expand the node, click on the radio button corresponding to the Essbase Server node, and press “Next”:

When the product options screen appears accept the defaults, and press “Next”:

When the Windows service screen appears enter the following values: Username: “sysadmin”; Password: “<password>”; Company Name: “hyperion”; Service Name Identifier: “hypservice”, and press “Next”:

When the ports screen appears, enter the following values: Agent Port Number: “1423”; Application Start Port: “32768”; Application End Port: “33768”, and press “Next”:

When the Shared Services screen appears, enter the following values: Server: “localhost”; Port: “58080”; User: “admin”; Password: “<password>”, and press “Next”:

When the confirmation screen appears, check the values, and, in the absence of error, press “Next”:

An installation in progress screen will appear (if you have a firewall installed you may be asked to unblock the process; do so).  Configuration will take a few minutes on a typical desktop machine.

 

When the installation successful screen appears, press “Next”:

When the product selection panel screen appears, click on the “No” radio button, and press “Next”:

When the tasks completed screen appears, press “Finish”:

Now you have configured the Essbase Server.

 

 

Where you’ve got to

 

If you navigate to the MS Windows Services screen, you’ll see that a new service has been added:

 

*  Hyperion S9 BI+ Analytic Services 9.3.2 – hypservice

 

Start the service.
